The Violence in Panchkula.
Baba black sheep, have you any fools?
Yes sir yes sir, two states full .... 😜
Now that's my take on the violence and mayhem. This was quite avoidable. The scale of deaths is.rather disturbing, 31 deaths by firing by security forces is rather frightening. Knowing fully well the nature of followers and their inclination to violence, the solution lay at all times in scattering the devotees and in disallowing their groups to converge at the courts. Yet all mistakes which ought not to have been committed were committed, if I may say so, deliberately. Perhaps an assurance of overall peace being maintained was made. But them astute administrators take their call on such issues, not on the say so of a so called God Man, no matter what his following. Or is that fear there, in many of us, that maybe he really does have some dark powers and could harm them individually, this is not light hearted writing, plenty have these fears.
To sum up ~
1. There certainly was lack of political will. And complicity and if its not complicity then it's plain bad judgement and decision making.
2. There certainly is administrative and police failure, this does not go down well but until and unless the distance is bridged with the juniors and the public and the sense of privilege reduced (such as assured promotions and higher pay grades), such incidents will happen time to time.
3. The sense of deprivation which results in people moving to deras in these states points to a deeper malaise in our society and also administrative systems. The religious heads and sociologists may also examine what is it that drives people to have.such a high affinity and a.willingness to die even. What are the gaps and concerns which build acceptance for deras.
4. All that the deras do is not bad or evil. There is affordable medical care and.a sense of equality and peace within the campus too.
5. Do not build up the dera heads beyond a point, this applies mainly to all stakeholders in the governance structure. Some can absorb it, some cannot and then the illegal acts start. And some such acts happen and will happen in many nations, this is a fact.
6. It's a sad day when so many had to be shot, some fatally and many seriously injured. They are fellow citizens also. Preventing this was always better.
7. Citizens have to realize, by force if necessary, that the Moghuls went away in 1857 and the British in 1947. They cannot vandalize and burn property of any type. This is paid for by taxes.
8. Any vacum in governance will attract other stakeholders. Right now the judiciary is praised and rightly so, but I would prefer better administrative functionality and policing anyday.
9. Sympathy and Regards to all fellow citizens in the tri city, it was a traumatic, specially for the people of Panchkula.
10. Do the followers of the.dera have a sense of the Indian State. This is a disturbing thought. Really.
11. There is a class emerging just beloe the middle class. We have to respect it's ambitions and it's will to move forward economically and socially, the means could be borderline legally even. We cannot ignore this segment, presently ignored its with the Babas.
Just before signing off, once a man dressed as.a holy man came to our house. I did the honours but on some major issue of money, when I vehemently disagreed, he threatened to curse me, for a moment I was off balance, so this does happen and impact.
