A Parable for Our Times (It’s Set in the Future say 2020) By Dinesh Kumar Kapila  In a certain State in India a senior Bureaucrat in the rank of an Additional Chief Secretary informed the Chief Secretary of the State that on Principle he could not Report to him. He stated that since their pay scales were equal their equation was of a Senior amongst equals. He had therefore a right to dissent and refuse to implement policy decisions. Moreover all important policy decisions as related to his domain were to be taken only after consulting him. He thereafter went public with his grouse and was even applauded by a section of politicians for being so aware about his principles and devotion to important State issues. Many however were saddened by this episode and viewed it as uncalled for.  In the meantime at the Central Government level a Secretary rank officer stated that he by virtue of his seniority deserved to be heading an important Ministry such as Finance or Home or ...

Doctors you Screwed up our Enjoyment of Food

Doctors you just screwed up our eating of food ! Dinesh K Kapila I sat and looked at the yolk of the egg as it sizzled on the toast and grilled tomatoes. I had wanted it exactly that way and said it was to be my breakfast a couple of days ago. Otherwise it is normally the same old boring, safe for the heart and body (and maybe mind) breakfast for me. Yet I could not eat it. Instead of the wonderfully tasting dish which was making me salivate just a few moments ago, I saw only cholesterol blocking my heart.  I started choking inside and could bring myself to eat one of my favourite breakfasts with great difficulty. When I see a banana now a days I see potassium and magnesium. One doctor has written extensively on how important both minerals are and spinach is really important in this context plus I am to believe it has iron. So now I am focused on spinach plus bananas.
